Re: Error: Maximum number of rooms exceeded, 6000

Hi, The limitations are due to extension of x number of rooms could result in so many room components and associated other components and controllers from the HVAC network which will ultimately lead to Apache not being able to correctly handle the memory requirements for simulating your model, reduc...

Re: Is it fine if I manually delete Radiance and SunCast files ?

hi, When running simulations with the SunCast or Radiance link ticked on the simulation settings dilaog then Parallel Simulation Manager is able to check if the relevant input files exists for apache (i.e. shd shading file or ill illuminance file) and if not then it will schedule and calculate this,...

Re: Mechanical Ventilation - temperature set point

Hi,

Are you modelling this as an air exchange? You can create a formula profile to control the air supply base don the air temps. Or go into much more detial in an ApacheHVAC design, again controlling air flow from the inlet based on teh air temp sensed in the space

Re: absorption chiller

Hi, I'm sure we can help you get up and running with the study using VE. Are you doing your HVAC modelling with the simple Apache systems or with ApacheHVAC? What type of analysis do you want to run and what do you wish to study? Some more detail of what you are trying to achieve and where you have ...

Re: Divide and Partition Tool Trouble.

Hi Paul, Mostly I'd see this in the cases where the starting geometry isn't tightly define don the grid. It's a limitation of the partition tool that you should be cutting up well defined shapes and resulting in well defined shapes, grid snaps for your starting and end points are necessary, i'd love...

Re: Inconsistent graph variable colours in vistapro

Hi Jerry,

There are a number of improvements in this area that our team are working towards to make VistaPro the best way to analyse and review the results, this is just one of them and my commitment to that end hasn't changed since 2015

Re: CIBSE Loads

Hi, For each change of the building rotation then the SunCast would require to be re-run for the new windows & surfaces orientation prior to running the analysis again If that still reports an error then it is something our team could look into - are you physically rotating the model in the Mode...

Reflectances of standard materials

Hi, We had this query in from a VE Radiance user and I was curious if any of you have good resources for this kind of data you could share with us? Since Radiance is used all over then I had a quick look online and there are a number of resourced but of course we have the usual lack of clarity on so...

Re: Model Viewer 1 being phased out

Hi, In VE 2017 Tools >> Preferences >> Model Viewer settings tab Wind Rose is a good example that we'll have to provide full support in MV2 for Speed is another thing, I think the suggestion of some simple model viewer function is a good one, MV is usually my first port of call when I get a new mode...

Actually it's not great for the big guys either since the licence costs are per user (up to 10, then additional users are free). Remember you can get your discount by entering your CIBSE Membership Number
