Re: Renewable Elec Supply and Part L

Hi Icho Thanks for your reply, yeah I think you're right, best to stick with the NCM carbon factor (though as you implied, this is somewhat outdated) I think I'll try convince our client focus on implementing electric powered building services, designing out nat' gas, in order to provide a developme...

Renewable Elec Supply and Part L

Hi all I was asked a question the other day that I wasn't sure about and can't find much info on, so thought I'd open it up to the VE forum to see if an EAs have an answer. If our client, an owner operator, has a 100% renewable 'green' electricity supply, do the electrical services used in the SBEM/...

Re: TM52 Summer Elevated Air Speed

That's how I read TM59. Also TM52 refers to BS EN 15251 which says increased air speed may be used to compensate for increased temperatures when fans are controlled by occupants or other means eg Personal Ventilation systems. TM52 Figure 7 shows the BS EN graph of allowance for air movement when fan...

Re: Parallel Notional and Actual Building Simulation

Hi guys I think there is a know issue with parallel simulation of the Notional and Actual building (mine was for larger models, it failed when downloading the results files due to a time out error). I ended up turning on the legacy simulation mode to fix this. It removes the ability to do parallel s...

Re: DSM Ap Systems Aux Energy Fan Fraction

Hi Phil

Thanks for replying, the name of the variable makes much more sense now.

I'll ignore this for the time being in DSM and keep an eye out for the addition of meters function to VE Compliance.

Thanks

DSM Ap Systems Aux Energy Fan Fraction

Hi all I've been working on a DSM model and in checking all my inputs I've seen in the Apache Systems on the Aux Energy tab there is a variable called 'Auxiliary energy fan fraction' set to 0.5 (right at the bottom above the Meter drop down VE 2017 Hotfix 1) I've had a look through the user guide an...

VistaPro Default Viewer

Hi all I've seen that IES are moving the results viewer from Vista to VistaPro an I thought that they'd made the VistaPro the default results viewer in 2015. However my Apache results are always presented in Vista as standard and I then get the pop up informing me it'll be discontinued. Given that V...

Re: Modelling CHP for Domestic Water Only

Hi I would also be quite interested in an answer to this question, if anyone can shed any light on it? Essentially I'm looking at introducing a CHP to produce a percentage of the DHW load in a hotel project we're working on. However it appears, when I run the SBEM to confirm a pass, the only improve...

Re: DHW Tandem System Generation Bivalent

Hi Phil

Thanks for your reply, I've used the first solution you mentioned and everything looks to be working as it should. I've now specified DHW System in tabBTM as a bivalent system sharing the % load between systems with a different fuel for each.

Thanks for your help
