Parametric Tool - Inconsistent Results

I’ve run a couple sets of parameters plus a regular simulation, but I’m getting different results when they should be the same. You can see that they are ballpark, but there is no reason they wouldn’t be identical. In the weather files set of runs I added several new weather files, but also the one ...

Re: ve2017.msi Missing

After a while, my IT team figured this out. It was an issue with the previous version of 2017 being uninstalled incompletely. It maybe specific to the way my company installs things, but if it comes up for anyone else, you just have to have your IT uninstall the previous version completely (i.e. pro...

Simplified Glazing Inputs

I know this has been asked before, but for repetition: it would be really helpful if we could just put in a U-Value and SHGC for glazing rather than having to build a construction up (similar for opaque, but that's easier to adjust). At the initial stages of projects we don't know what the glass wil...

Could a forum group be added specific to the Elements, Parametric, and Hone tools? work with these often spans multiple existing VE groups so it's hard to know where to post.

Re: Parametric Simulations for ApacheHvac

Is there an ETA on when ApacheHVAC variables will be added to the parametric tools? If the variables are going to take a while, could different HVAC files be used as a partial step, similar to how it searches through the weather folder and simulates all the different weather files you give it?

Re: Parametric tool

Yahya, When you are in Elements, after you have defined your rules and variables, do you click both the green arrow and the save button? After doing that, if there a little colored block next to each Rule that are any color other than green? I find that if it's blue, it hasn't been saved properly, a...

Solar Gains in Exterior Sliver Space are Large

I was testing some issues with heat building up near glazing and I noticed this odd behavior. This is a test model where I have a small sliver (0.1m) of space by the glass, with holes in all interior walls. The sliver is 2.27m2 and the room behind it is 81.72m2. Other than the interior wall connecti...

Re: Dxf image not showing up correctly

I know this is an old thread, but I often still have the 'mirroring' issue, where it seems that a shadow of the main DXF is there to the side. It's not the end of the world, but in big models gets pretty annoying because the autofit doesn't really work.

ve2017.msi Missing

Hi, I'm trying to install the 2017 2nd hotfix, and I get a error saying that the MSI file can't be found, and asking me to change the source folder to find it - but I don't know where it is. Any suggestions? "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click ...

Re: Error Message: Unable to access file -\CZ09RVZ.epw.

Did you maybe accidentally hit any buttons in the Title-24 application? That is a California Title 24 specific weather file, and if you activate the title 24 module I think it may try to find the appropriate weather file.
