looking at ncm guide it seems that we are allowed to use w/m2 method when lux levels are higher or equal than NCM activity, so there will there never be a penalty for overprovision on lux level because you could choose w/m2 and the subsequent detail design has to adhere to that?
OR are you not to ...

data centre CRAC units
i have a project with lot of data centre rooms which are unoccupied and treated by CRAC units for temperature control, this is in cibse view a 'process load' discounted in part L. when i assign this however to a 'misc 24 hr data centre' template (with 'none' as hvac system) this gets the room ...

compliance link to macroflo?
do i need to link my compliance simulations with macroflo (incl all profiles for window openings) if i have natural ventilation of any sort for a building?
and on nat vented plantrooms: if they are heated to 'condensation protection' then no need to model nat vent there as the rooms heating and aux ...

varied infiltration values
is there a way to input different infiltration values within your building. as far as I know you input only in 'set building & system data' tab a single blanket value, how can I override this in the room itself. Other than that i'd have to apply area-weighted average as a single number to the whole ...

Re: CIBSE cooling loads conduction gain
hi terence
thank you for your quick reply.
i have also re-ran this in apache, and also got negative conduction gains for most of the summer day. my walls are lightweight,i re-ran it with heavyweight wall and results are worse (i.e more negative gains).
The conduction gain contributes to cooling ...

CIBSE cooling loads conduction gain
I have a simple house project, in which i'm only interested in one room, with quite large windows, largely south facing. i keep this room at 24degC max all year, 28degc outside max. .Peak summertime cooling (in august) includes conduction gain which is negative to the tune of -2kW max, so basically ...

Re: Transparent Canopy/Balcony Feature
absolutely agree, this is too common situation now to ignore, the new options shall have user-specified g-value of 'transparency' in it as well

Re: shading devices with windows?
there is no option for 'unoccupied room', if you put 'internal void' it doesn't detect this as shading with windows.

shading devices with windows?
hi ,i need to model shading device in form of massive ETFE roof outside the facade, this roof is semi-transparent and we can choose g-value that we want, when i model this as a 'local shade' this doesn't let me put windows in it, when i do this as a 'heated or occupied room' then it includes windows ...
