External analysis convergence

Help needed.
I'm doing wind analysis with microflo on a hospital campus and I'm having difficulties with the simulation. The variables residual are decreasing slowly but are still high. Mass residual does not decrease at all. It tops the chart at 1e+002; flat line... The site is quite large, about 1 ...

reflections from external element and other buildings

Do solar gain and daylighting account for reflections from external building elements and from other building (local shade layer or adjacent building layer)?
In other words, I have an element (light shelf) modeled as a local shade. Will it reflect solar radiation in the room and will it affect solar ...

Re: Radiation losses

I'd like to revive those questions I have. I'm trying to understand, but nothing is really clear to me.

Are long wave radiation heat losses through windows calculated?
If so, can a local shade (modeled element) reflect part of it back in?
Can external shutters (construction database) reflect it ...

Sunny sky description

I'd like to get info on the sunny sky model in Radiance. For instance, what's the sun's power in lux? (I can get up to 40,000 lux inside a model.)
Thanks.

Re: Adjacent Building Properties

So adjacent buildings or local shades won't transmit radiation, nor reflected solar irradiation?

Re: "Error reading illuminance file, line 13" in Apache

So, its seems that there can't be any objects on a turned off layer. I was using such objects to make adiabatic zones. Instead, I used objects as adjacent buildings; it does the same. And now, no more issues with radiance link.

Thermal effect of components

I'm looking for information about components and their thermal effect. I modeled an individual office, and to give the wall a depth, I've added a component that covers the opaque portion of the wall (around the window). That way, it can account for reflections on window sides. So I'm wondering what ...

Thanks for those answers. I'm going to look at that next week maybe. I'll come back to you soon.

"Error reading illuminance file, line 13" in Apache

I get this message when I start a simulation, when assigning a dimming profile based on sensor 1 readings. I get the error at the very beginning, when it's processing data.
The model is a room with surroundings rooms on an off layer (to create adiabatic spaces), and of local shade objects.
When I ...
