Working on a ASHRAE 90.1 – 2010 PRM simulation, I would like to consult baseline systems Fresh / Outside Air (OA) supply settings.
My proposed system is DOAS, OA is supplied between 8am-6pm. I have verified that the OA is being delivered accordingly (see below from the VistaPro outputs)
My ...

ASHRAE 90.1 2010 - modeling Lighting Controls as per Section 9.4.1 for the proposed building
Hi All!
How do you approach modeling Lighting Controls as per Section 9.4.1 in the proposed building? Using the IES PRM Navigator, baseline gets lighting mandatory requirements assigned automatically (verified with IES technical support). For the proposed case, there is no way to assign these ...

Modeling de-stratification fan
Hi,
we are modeling an industrial hall and the client would like to asses the effectives of destratification fan located under the ceiling (change in operative temperature at the bottom working plane layer). Does anyone have any experience of modeling situation like this (or similar)?
Thanks a ...

Mixing damper - minimum OA settings for System 02c
Hello,
I am using system system 02c (PTHP with Intermittent Fan / Zero or Min OA).
I would like to set constant minimum outside air supply to spaces, regardless of the cooling/heating needs in the zone.
I've tried editing the damper minimum flow in the damper component dialog (specifically ...

Extensive model - numbers of cells Vs cell aspect ratio
Hi All,
I am running an external CFD analysis on a large (district size) model. The size of the grid is about 400x300x120m, the geometry is rather conceptual.
The problem I have is that in order to keep the cell aspect size ratio below 50, I would have to refine the mesh to 0.12m. However, this ...

direct and diffuse horizontal irradiance input
Hi,
We are working in IES to evaluate the daylight LEEDv4 credit option 2 for a project. One of the requirements is to input direct and diffuse horizontal irradiance. Does anyone know how/if at all this can be done in IES?
With many thanks,
David

Accessing Baseline data - no ASHRAE 90.1 navigator
Hi All,
We are going to receive a model for reviews/comments.
The model is being created in the IES VE (2019) with the ASHRAE 90.1 navigator.
Currently, we don't hold licence for the navigator, so I am wandering about having an insight into the baseline parameters.
Would there be a ...

ASHRAE 90.1 2007 Pressure Drop Adjustment
Hi,
I am trying to incorporate the pressure drop adjustment fan allowance as per the ASHRAE 90.1 2007. I am aware of the entry in the System Parameter Tab / System Parameters / 90.1 PRM Baseline System Pressure Drop Adjustment. I am using 90.1 PRM Baseline System 8 (i.e. the textbox is enabled ...

Re: VAV - austosized Room Loads not showing
Update - I've set the building envelope to aluminium sheet only, to increase the heating & cooling load ad absurdum.
Autosized room loads still at zero
..
Perhaps there is there an elephant in the room that I don't see?
Please help!!

VAV - austosized Room Loads not showing
Hi All,
I am modeling a VAV system (ASHRAE system 8), used as a baseline for ASHRAE 90.1 modeling.
I've run the rooms & systems autosizing, but it seems that the room loads (as shown i.e. in the ApacheHVAC Systems Parameters dialog - Room Loads & Supply Airflows tab - Cooling / Heating design ...
