Re: Part L2A or Part L1B?

Hi Chris,

Looking at Part L2A, p.29 for the definition of a dwelling:
' Dwelling includes a dwelling-house and a flat and means a self-contained unit designed to accommodate a single household'

So it looks like the new outbuilding is not really a dwelling and because it's not physically connected ...

Re: Electric DHW immersion tank

Hi Michela, are you doing a Part L/Section 6 assessment or an EPC? If it's for an EPC, it might be worth contacting your accreditation scheme.

I think that for IES you can ignore the system type, as long as the heating fuel is correct. Delivery efficiency is the sum of storage + circulation losses ...

The terminology between IES and heat pump literature can be confusing. I usually enter the heat pump's SCoP in the 'seasonal efficiency' field and let the 'delivery efficiency' to default, then IES calculates the 'SCoP' of the whole system, which is lower than the heat pump's SCoP.

The ...

Re: Creating low-e and reflective glazing

Hi, have you tried looking at the system constructions instead? There are some glazing types that may fit what you are looking for (example IDs: DGL-R, DGS-L) that you can directly copy over to your project. You can then change the air gap resistance to fit your target U-Value.

Re: Perimeter zoning tool

Hi there, there should be a button in ModelIT on which if you hover your mouse it pops up "Create perimeter zones". For me it's the last button in the toolbar, maybe because it's a new feature. It's next to the other new ones: add voids, split spaces vertically etc.
