Re: No ApacheHVAC results visible in Vista

In my prototype system, room with air supply has 0 airflow and infiltration and natural ventilation such as openable windows controlled by macroflo etc are modelled regardless of mechanical means.

If there is no prototype system with room without airflow, the concept of such rum is not clear to me ...

Re: No ApacheHVAC results visible in Vista

The loads are now showing nicely, because system is working by using simplest prototype. Before there were no prototype and system wasn't working hence no load.

I think the whole problem was with not using prototype. Could IES explain the concept of room without air supply? Why can it be used as ...

Re: No ApacheHVAC results visible in Vista

To explore benefits of using different heat sources for heat network. Biomass boiler for base load, gas for Max load and solar preheat. ApacheHVAC is doing decent job in simulating which appliance is working at which time and what contribution is made to overall carbon emissions.

Gas boiler deals ...

Re: No ApacheHVAC results visible in Vista

Well..it's the first time I am modelling this for radiator only system without any mechanical ventilation. That's why decided to create simplest form of multiplex and room without air supply in it to which radiator is assigned. Same layers for each zone.

Didn't work so tried with simplest system ...

Re: No ApacheHVAC results visible in Vista

Hi I have tried that and did not bring any results either.

What else I tried I used prototype system (one with grey frame) from library, in this case used mechanical extract only and set fan's flow rate to 0 to not model any mechanical extract as this is not required / intended. This seems to work ...

Re: No ApacheHVAC results visible in Vista

Results I can see for on picked winter day are as follows: https://www.flickr.com/x/t/0095009/gp/uslink/85Yg9j

Basically as it can be seen all room load lines lying on the x axis at 0.

I can see some load coming from solar collectors (not much as it winter) so this works but I cannot see the ...

Solar thermal energy yield

Hi

Is there any way to see total energy in kWh/MWh generated by solar thermal panels (used on preheating hot water loop in ApacheHVAC). I can only see the load input in kW under building loads from collectors but not actual summed yield.

Any ideas?

Thanks

No ApacheHVAC results visible in Vista

Hello

Simple system was modelled in ApacheHVAC but no results are visible neither in Vista nor VistaPro. HVAC system comprises of 1 hot water loop with 2 boilers, gas and biomass sequenced for different load scenario and solar pre-heating.

Multiplex was created with 105 layers and one room ...

Re: CIBSE Loads and Dynamic Simulation results don't mach

I think the problem was identified. Basically CIBSE Loads tool selected 'default' day/time for loads calculation. The one was during reduced temperature period and not in the coldest day/month of the year hence significantly reduced loads.

When manually set to day/time that load was expected to be ...

Re: Thermal modelling of residential block of flats

Thanks for your hints. I could not fully utilise NCM profiles as I modelled each flat as one space and used profiles based on measured data for most of the things (lighting, electricity, occupancy). Measured data was for whole apartment rather than each room, therefore that was an easier approach ...
