Modeling a VRF System
Alright this is probably something super simple that I am missing, but I have used the VRF modeling walkthrough from IES and am not getting the results that I believe I should be. Basically I have a 'sample' building to try and get this right with 2 zones: one zone has 0 people and one has 500. This ...

Re: Beginner needing a little help with a vaulted ceiling
Alright I was able to get it to work. Thanks for the help, I ended up having to split the attic into two spaces. The geometry didn't change at all but for some reason that removed the intersection error.

Re: Beginner needing a little help with a vaulted ceiling
I am having trouble with this again. I am trying to model a house that has a vaulted ceiling and an attic. My process I was trying was this: Create all non-vaulted geometries, then create the attic space using the 'generate roofs for selected spaces command'. It would create the attic space as hoped ...

Software Crash in 2016
Hello,
Ever since updating to 2016, I crash when trying to edit the heating equipment. I can place a heating coil, add a generic heat source without any problem, but as soon as I click on edit heating equipment the software shuts down and says "VE MFC Application has stopped working".
Any ...

Modeling a door containing a window
I have a door that contains a fairly large window (3'x7' door with a 2'x2' window) and am not sure how to model this. Do I need to split it up into a bunch of rectangles, defining each as a door or window, or is there a way to add glazing to a door opening.
All help is appreciated, thank you!

Re: Should Watts be an option for internal gain units?
Alright I was able to get it sorted out. If you switch the units to Metric, then Watts becomes an option. The units can then be switched back to SI (unless working with metric of course) and the software calculates it from there.

Should Watts be an option for internal gain units?
I am new to this software, and am having some problems with lighting gains. The only options for units I see for adding an internal gain are: W/ft2, Btu/h, and fc. I can work with W/ft2 usually but I am trying to add my exterior lighting load to a room to make sure it is accounted for in an energy ...

Beginner needing a little help with a vaulted ceiling
I am trying to model a single story home containing an attic. The ceiling maintains the same height throughout with the exception of a vaulted ceiling in one area. I am able to get everything modeled fine with no errors until I try and add the attic space. It is a hip roof and so I have used the ...
