Greenhouse Residence: natural ventilation & adjacent conditions

Hi all,

I am working on my dissertation and I am modelling a "greenhouse residence", i.e. a common dwelling surrounded by a glass cover.

In IES VE, the greenhouse box is modelled as a separate room and does not adjoin any room of the main building. (there is a 2.5m distance between the core ...

How to define two heating setpoints

Hello,

I have a rather simple question

I want to set two different setpoints for a room. More specifically:

21C when the room is occupied (i.e. 0:00-8:00 and 17:00-24:00 )

and

13C when the room is unoccupied (i.e. 8:00-17:00 )

Could anyone please show me how? Making modulating profiles ...

Re: model natural ventilation - formula

Thank you Phil!

One specification..

If I want the windows to open only when the building is occupied (i.e. 0:00-8:00 and 17:00-24:00) is this profile correct? (assuming the windows open instantaneously)

0:00 | 0
7:00 | 0
7:00 | (ta>25) & (ta>to) & (to>12)
8:00 | (ta>25) & (ta>to) & (to>12)
8:00 ...

Re: Error in Simulation! "Surface temperature instability in room"

Thank you!

Smaller time steps was the solution!

model natural ventilation - formula

Hi,

I try to model natural ventilation for a simple building. I use MacroFlo and want the windows to open when
1) to>25C
2) ta>to
3) to>16C

My question is:

In the "degree of opening" tab I can use the profile (from ApPro) with the formula (ta>25) & (ta>to) & (to>12) (i.e. modulating )?? if so ...

Error in Simulation! "Surface temperature instability in room"

Hi,

I tried to simulate a simple building and the following error appears:

Error: Surface temperature instability in room CL000000. Possible
remedies: add thermal capacity to construction CEIL-D; reduce time
step; set control radiant fraction to 0; check gain and ventilation levels;
reduce ...
