Re: Part L2a England 2021 consultation

Thanks for confirming the above information, very helpful.

I note that the 2021 consultation verson of SBEM has been released - just wondering if you are planning on having a VE Compliance DSM equivalent? i.e. VE Compliance 2021 in the interim to test the impact of the changes within IES-VE, rather ...

Re: Outputs for SAP

Hi Swinners,

We would like to do this also and haven't really invested much time into developing it.

What software do you use for SAP? We use Elmhurst Design SAP and are attempting to push them to developing the GbXML reader process.

get_room_geometry_details(roomID) seems to be suitable for ...

Thread for Python Modules

Hi,

What is the process for working with modules that are not contained within the VE Python virtual environment?

Is there a way I can access them within VE Scripts? Or can we ask to include a module and it be included in a hotfix of some sort?

I am after OpenPyxl to be included, as I am hitting ...

Re: Setting RoomData (Air Exchanges and Internal Gains)

Hi Rhind,

I am after this functionality also - without the ability to edit air exchanges and internal gains, we are being forced to use a mix and match approach for setting data in the VE, which undermines a lot of the potential use cases for VE scripts.

Please can you provide an update on ...

Re: Results reader fails in recent (post 2018 hotfix 2?) versions

Hi Rhind / bbrannon4,

Appreciate the support.

I still am having the same issue - when this is resolved please may you post the solution in this thread please?

I also second bbrannon4's request to formalise the vista names and corresponding aps names (outside the python dictionary), as accessing ...

Re: Results reader fails in recent (post 2018 hotfix 2?) versions

Hi Rhind,

Thanks for getting back and the code makes sense for use in VE2018.

I note that between the VE2017 version and VE2018 (Hotfix 2), the method for get_room_results changed?

In VE2017, when running the example 'overheating_test.py' script; the method for accessing results is stipulated as ...

Re: Results reader fails in recent (post 2018 hotfix 2?) versions

jgill,

Just going to say that the same is happening for me.

It seems the .get functions which access the C++ data do not match the IES-VE user documentation.

Boost.Python.ArgumentError: Python argument types in
ResultsReader.get_room_results(ResultsReader, str, str, str, int, int)
did not match ...

Re: Components Included in Room Volume

Phil,
Fantastic thank you for your fast response.
I have a read a little into the furniture mass factor in the available guides.

It seems a useful addition to include as it directly links to the thermal capacity of the room, however I am apprehensive to use it due to the fact that it seems ...

Components Included in Room Volume

Hi,
I am undertaking a thermal comfort assessment of a library building under different occupancy patterns.

As I am a beginner to IES-VE I have been unable to find out whether the components modeled with the component modeler and inserted into ModelIt affect the volume of the room.

My problem is ...

Object volume represented in calculations?

Hi,
I am completing a thermal comfort assessment of a university library building, particularly looking at overheating during a high occupancy event.

The building is a mix of academic books and work stations for students, with some rooms entirely just work stations and large open spaces a mix of ...
