Re: Painfully SLooooooow

I think when you develop a large model or lots of openings on 1 surface, ModelIt becomes really slow.

Sometimes I feel like turning off IES and then reopen it helps a little bit.

I will be very glad to hear some ideas of speeding up ModelIt!

Re: Can we please have a ASHRAE 90.1 ECB/IECC C407 sector?

Phil,

Thanks for replying. Yes, I heard the news that you are adding 2013 ECB to the workflow and ECB reporting, which is great!

And yes, can we have a sector here in this forum or a topic thread? I guess ASHRAE ECB/IECC C407 will be more popular when energy modelers realize it's the method for ...

Re: Skylight construction details Not Reflected in BPRM Report

Try not to assign constructions using the navigator. Go to Module ASHRAE 90.1 App.G-PRM, select your baseline geometry and on the top there is "assign constructions".

Hope this helps.

Re: OA flows - discrepancy between BTM inputs and sizing report

Not sure I am understanding your question.

In VE 2015, you have to define OA in the "access loads data spreadsheet". If you have done that correctly, there shouldn't be any issues.

Re: Service Hot Water results under Fossil Fuel Category

SHW is done in ApacheHVAC either in generic heating source or hot water loop.

You could define fuel source there and it should resolve this issue.

Re: Exceptional calculation BPRMReport

please correct me if I am wrong.

I thought exceptional calculation should be done outside of the modeling software.

Re: PRM - Unreasonable Energy Usage

Please see below.

For example, the PRM report states proposed and baseline lighting power density to be the same. However, in the input options of "Internal Heat Gain", I have clearly placed a reduction in lighting power (as shown below). The final interior lighting power/gain is finalized in room ...

Can we please have a ASHRAE 90.1 ECB/IECC C407 sector?

ECB is a huge part of code/permit compliance. Principles of doing baseline systems are very different from Appendix G.

Can we please have a ECB sector here?

Question on unmet load hours

Hi,

I have a question regarding unmet load hours in IESVE 2017.

In ApacheHVAC, I model HVAC as zone groups .

When calculating unmet load hours, IESVE looks at each space/room .

There are some unmet load hours and I just can't get rid of it after trying some typical methods.

Please correct me if ...

Re: How to model Simple AHU for heating the room

I guess you want to model a single zone AHU?

Prototype system 3 might be the one you are looking for. If there is no cooling, please turn off cooling controllers.

Hope this helps.
