Re: Transparent insulation materials (TIM)

Thank you for the reply, but that is not what I am looking for.
A Transparent Insulation Matierial works similar to a Trombe Wall, with the main difference, that there is no air gap between the thermal mass and the insulation layer. The main feature of it is the thermal mass, which makes it perform ...

How to put Vista Pro results in order?

Is there a way to put Vista Pro results in a certain order?

For example I want to have the following output: Air temperature / Solar gain / Heating Plant sensible Load / Cooling Plant Sensible Load. I search these outputs (I have to search them because there seems to be no way to display them in ...

Re: Warning: Using the VE can seriously damage your health

After using IESVE for a few months now I must add to this "very immature rant".

As many of you, IESVE is driving me crazy and I am considering switching to a more user-friendly software.

Some of the worst issues I have experienced are:

- You can't edit geometry that is not defined as a "room". No ...

Why is it not possible to move, mirror or rotate non-thermal zones and shading geometry?!

I'm using IESVE 2019 and I figured out that I can only use the commands move, mirror and rotate on thermal zones. All other geometry doesn't react on that command. Which means that the only commands left to edit non-thermal geometry is copy and "edit element heights".

Is anyone else experienceing ...

Thermal Mass Cm - How is it calculated? Where is it used?

I am doing a series of simulations trying to simulate trombe walls.
A trombe wall is a passive solar wall, consisting of a glazing, with an air cavity and an absorber with high thermal mass behind it.

I was trying to find out the effect of the thermal mass of the absorber on the Heating Load and ...

Re: Surface Conduction Gains

Did I get it right that there is no way to output the conductiuon through a specific surface? Now that is very lame! I mean, this is important when it comes to evaluate and optimize building envelopes!

Is there any work around?

And does anyone know what the "internal conduction gains" really ...

Similar issue here

I have the same issue with SunCast.

When I use the fast calculation method, the calculations run without error message, but when I want to view the results I get an error message:
V.107 Shading File does not match Model
Cause: error in [Windows] header.
You will need to rerun the Solar Shading ...

IESVE 2019 gives me totally wrong solar gains from windows.

Dear community!

I have very persisting and annoying problems with IESVE 2019 and I suspect that these are related to SunCast:
I get obviously wrong simulation results for solar gains. This problem occurs in thermal zones that are attached to other zones or geometry (but not in all of them), I ...

Transparent insulation materials (TIM)

Are there any known workarounds to model transparent insulation materials (attached to thermal mass layers) in IESVE?
Hope that you can help!

Thanks,
