Hi all,
In dynamic simulation, does anyone know if it's at all possible to include a variable that refers to the hour prior to the hour that I'm assessing? For example, I want to set up a profile formula that controls the windows opening based on the temperature not in the hour currently, but in ...

AFUE + SEER in IES, confused! please help....
Hello,
could someone please help me understand how I might input the data of an Apache System?
I'm modeling (dynamic simulation) a detached residential house. I'm interested in annual energy, but hourly indoor temperature.
1) I have a gas boiler which I know has an AFUE (annual fuel utilization ...

Inner Volume concern when build from Model IT
Hello all,
sorry this question is a bit similar to an existing thread but since this question does not concern importing, so I thought I should start the thread anew....very sorry about this if I've violated any posting rules.... :?
Anyway, I just want to confirm with you all what I understood ...

What does "Solar Gain" include?
Hello,
I'm doing ApacheSim; and I've selected the breakdown of the conduction gains in output options. My question is, is there an overlap between "solar gain" and "conduction gain-external glazing"?
because in the manual/documentation provided by IES, it says "solar gain: solar radiation ...

Re: IES Version problem
You shouldn't be losing any data when you upgrade a model, there must be some reason this happened.
When you upgrade a model it will offer to Rebuild adjacencies as part of the upgrade so it may have been at this point that you lost geometry but I don't think the VE would damage a good model so it ...

Re: Automate ApacheSim Analysis
Not within VE no, you'd have to set them up manually and use the Batch facility to queue up the simulations.
You could consider a 3rd party tool for this but it could get quite expensive. Our QA team use Test Complete to automate testing, this records interactions with the software and creates ...

Re: IES Version problem
Thank you all for your help!
my department has now updated their IES, but the newest version is 6.4.0.8!!!!! I have 6.4.0.7 on my own laptop. when I open my 0.7 version file in 0.8 IES, it DOES open, but some geometries are LOST, so, just a word of caution here for anyone trying to do this....

Re: Automate ApacheSim Analysis
HI Phil,
thanks for the reply. Yes, I did use Batch simulation, but still I had to manually change each parameter, is there any script writing capabilities within IES that I can make IES do this by itself?
thanks.

IES Version problem
Hi all,
I have a file created on my own computer with a student license of IES-VE 6.4.0.7 and I tried to open this file on my school computer with a license of IES-VE 6.4, and I got an error message "unsupported file or format, the selected file requires <VE> 6.4.0.7 or higher to open". I was ...
