Purpose of Visible Light Properties field?
Hi all,
Can I ask the purpose of the Visible Light Properties field in the Constructions Database dialogue box for glazed constructions? I have looked for guidance in the Construction Database user guide but found no reference to it.
I have defined three glazing types (single - 6mm float, double ...

Re: Local shading has no effect
Hi,
I've managed to get it working.
I didn't concentrate on correcting the 'slivers' which would probably require rebuilding the model from scratch, with no guarantee that this would fix the problem. Instead I changed the design day on which the solar shading calculations were carried out. My ...

Re: Local shading has no effect
Hi Phil,
Thanks for the clarification, I've tried deleting and turning off the local shade and have been successful in defining a shading file for Nov-Dec. When I use it in thermal simulations the results are as I had hoped, so happy days there!
Unfortunately, I've developed a second, probably ...

Re: Local shading has no effect
Hi Phil,
Thanks for the reply. I've been investigating further on a quickly constructed one-room model and have made it work by defining the first shading file when only the room exists in the model (ie shading device not modeled), and defining the second after the shading device is modeled. I had ...

Local shading has no effect
Hi all,
I'm having trouble with modeling trees as local shade. I'm hoping someone might be able to help.
I'm modeling a 6 storey office building in Dublin, facing SE with extensive glazing, with deciduous trees in front of it. I modeled them as simple polygons, which are opaque in the model viewer ...

Re: 'Lights electricity' on an individual room basis
Hi Phil,
Thanks for the confirmation, I can work it out from that information.
I'm a little surprised it's not a Vista output. Perhaps it might be considered as a future feature?
Regards,
Daithi

'Lights electricity' on an individual room basis
Hi all,
I would like to know how to identify 'lights electricity' on an individual room basis?
I can identify 'light gain' on an individual room basis, but this differs from 'lights electricity' because when I defined fluorescent lighting under internal gains I multiplied the lamp rating by 20 ...

Re: Combining Thermal Simulation Results Files?
Hi Phil,
Thanks for the response.
Yes, exporting to Excel seems to be the best option. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing an IES function or an easy workaround.
Daithi.

Combining Thermal Simulation Results Files?
Hi,
I'm wondering whether thermal simulation results files can be combined easily?
I've modeled an existing building with deciduous trees to one side. This meant I had to create a SunCast solar calculation file for May-Oct when there is foliage on the trees and another from Nov-Apr when there isn ...
