Hi CP
thanks for the feedback,
The issue is that it is now clear that using the LL/cW instead of the power densities is more favourable in achieving compliance, which put the lighting design at a disadvantage as Ross mentioned before, so I was looking at how this is being formulated by the software ...

Re: Conversion in IES of specific lighting connected load
Hi all
thanks for the feedback
I have established that indeed the correct input at least for new buildings is the power density per 100 lux unless we are dealing with an existing EPC or a new build where there are just no lux plots
The issue is that there is a very large discrepancy between the ...

Conversion in IES of specific lighting connected load
Hi All,
Can any body please help on how IES VE converts the specific connected loads in (lighting power density per 100Lux) W/m2/100Lux to Luminaire lumens/Watts.
I am pretty sure that the correct method of entering the lighting loads when in Part L mode (DSM) mode is W/m2/100Lux. However, the ...

Re: Alpha value [%] in DSM compliance
Hello
Yes i know, but can you explain why there the actual building heat loss due to thermal bridging is different from the notional in the BRUKL document, when they both should be 10% in DSM calculation methodology?
thanks

Alpha value [%] in DSM compliance
Why does the Alpha value in the BRUKL document for the actual buiidng is not fixed any more to 10% like it did used to be!?
Now when running DSM compliance in the "Building Global Parameters" section of the BRUKL document, the Alpha values for the actual buiidlng tend to differs from the usual ...

new Part L 2013 using IES
Hi all,
How do we tackle the new measures coming in force in April 2014 (part L2A). This mainly concerns the " Consideration of high-efficiency alternative systems for new buildings". The iSBEM ver. 4.e. is including for this. it is also showing in IES BRUKL doc. It may be already there in IES, but ...

lamp efficacy and LOR in SBEM IES VE (2013)
Hi there
I have noticed in the IES (2013) release there is now a requirement to input both the lamp efficacy and the LOR (Light output ratio) using the SBEM method of calculation not DSM..
Does this means if the data for lighting exists as luminaire-lumens/circuit watts then I can input this figure ...

Viewing an EPC or BRUKL
am having problems viewing EPC and BRUKL documents once the simulations have completed
I have to retrieve the documents from the regs file. Any help with this
