Hi,
Does the surface variable in vista "Incident Solar Flux" includes all three components;
1) direct solar radiation
2) diffuse solar radiation
3) reflected radiation from adjacent buildings
Or it only gives the direct and diffuse radiation?
Please assist to clarify.
Thanks

Reflected Radiation from building envelope
Hi,
I'm wondering whether IES is capable of giving the amount of radiation reflected by an external surface or the amount of radiation incident on a surface which has been diffused by the adjacent building based on the surface reflectance assigned.
For eg. I did 2 simulations for a building of ...

Re: Negative Conduction from External Wall in Tropical Count
Hi,
Thanks for the replies.
For IES, If i consider inner surface temperature (Ti) and the conduction gain (Q) from a specific wall in a given time from vista results, and if i use that 2 values to calculate the outside surface temperature (To) based on the wall thermal transmittance Value (U) and ...

Negative Conduction from External Wall in Tropical Country
Hi
Im running simulations for a building model in Singapore, using the SingaporeIWEC.fwt weather files. Building is naturally ventilated. I have set it to naturally ventilated in ApacheSim as well.
And my external walls have an overall U value of 3.1649 W/m2K and medium weight thermal mass (185 ...

Thanks Phil,
I let it run for about 2 days. It worked. Thank you!

Re: Multi-Surface selection
Hi,
Do you have any idea whether it is there a possibility for Vista to give the conduction gain from a specific wall?
My vista out put doesnt show conduction gain when I move to the level of decomposition of surface. I could only see the conduction gain breakdown in the overall room.

Hi Phil,
I have another query about this. the conduction gain break down gives external conduction, internal conduction or combination of both?
Thank you!

External Convection Model (ASHRAE Simple)
Hi,
What is the calculation method used in the simulation option, External Convection Model: ASHRAE Simple?
is it taking hc as a constant?
I could only find the McAdams Calculation method in the User guide.
And which method out of these 2 is more accurate for a detail simulation?
Please advice ...

Hi,
Im running a suncast simulation for a quiet huge building ( 4 building on the same site with 16 storey )that I constructed on ModelIT itself. But it is taking really long to run the simulation for suncast and for solar shading. I let it run overnight. But it will end up in not responding state ...
