Re: Building cooling & heating summary Latent load is not shown

Hi there,

If we do not have any dehumidification or humidification proposed (so we keep the percentage saturation lower limit at 0% and higher limit at 100%) does IES take into account the sensible and latent internal gains when sensible cooling loads are selected?

Or because we have not specified ...

Re: Merging multiple spaces at once

Thanks Wasted,

That is an interesting command, how can you prevent it from merging everything in your model?

I have tried selecting zones then typing shell but it still merges everything.

Re: Merging multiple spaces at once

Additionally, when you merge spaces around a lift core, I am yet to have the merge tool not cause errors due to intersections and unbound surfaces. There was a post in this forum back in 2010 stating this exact issue with no fix...

Also where is the hot key support!?

When I click on the space, I ...

Merging multiple spaces at once

Hi Team,

Been awhile since I have been on this, seems IES is getting some decent improvements!

I am running into an un-optimised part of the program.

I can create perimeter zones and have kinda what I want. (This tool trips up at any sign of odd geometry past a square or rectangle. Why ...

Sensors - Partially showing up in my model!

Hi All,

Just been going through slicing some spaces without partitions with the partition tool or with the edit space tool.

I have encountered quite a few crashes when using the edit space and slicing around 5 slices...

Any ideas as to why this keeps crashing. I ...

Re: Dxf image not showing up correctly

This would be helpful to know as I have never seen these settings and find the dxf implementation useful but terribly limiting when modelling.

Best Radiance Render?

Hi All!

Its been ages since I have been on here.

Just thought it would be interesting to see what others have managed to get out of Radiance.

I have a few renders on some jobs I have done in the past and have found the software to be pretty slow and clunky to use.

I know IES is not meant for ...

Re: VRF system in APacheSystem

Hi Jun,

So your package unit supplies air that has been tempered to the room temperature? you can set this in adjacent air conditions.

Leave IES to calculate the sensible heating loads and then use ashrae to calc the peaks for the spaces.

Should get you on the right track...

Re: Blinds in double glazed window

Hi Emilia,

You can setup blinds by going into Apache, Constructions, double click on your construction and edit it.

When you are editing your constructions you can add blinds or remove them. The apache documents have information regarding this.

You can set the blinds to raise and lower depending ...

Re: Simulate two different models in one simulation

Hi Guys,

Thanks, This is an area where IES really needs to look into improving. Teamwork on models seems to be pretty normal these days.

I might look into that and see.
