Dates in Weather files.
I made an simple mistake and edited the simulation calendar in a recent sim, nothing serious I just started my year off on a Monday rather using the 'take from weather file' option. I was carrying out an adaptive comfort overheating risk assessment. My little mistake made a ...

Re: Annual UDI statistics
Why are the radiance parameters restricted on the UDI annual simulation? The quality options are simply greyed out so we cannot understand what parameters are being used.
It is fundamental to the calculation to be able to understand what radiance is doing. I understand the impact changing some of ...

Activity glazing class
Just wondered if you can access the table that determines if an activity is unlit, sidelit or toplit somewhere, somehow?
I know you can step through into the notional within IES but I'd like to view the table directly if possible.
I have already downloaded the NCM activity database from the NCM ...

Re: Notional Building Specific Fan Powers
I'm not sure if this is just a case of terminology the '2013 edition' of part L2A is still part of the overarching 2010 building regulations.
I know some of the figures have been updated such as the terminal sfp for fan coils was reduced from 0.5 to 0.3W/l/s and this is updated in IES.
The ...

Re: CIBSE 2016 Weather Files
So these weather files are nearly a year old now. I'm just wondering who is using them?
There is a firm requirement to use them from the GLA in the energy planning guidance but what about the rest of the country?
However TM59(overheating in dwellings) now suggests you only need to pass TM52 ...

Re: ApacheSim -Compliance
I would setup two separate Apache Systems
The first system would be your Electric panels for your space heating
The second system would be for your DHW link the chp. There is no need to use a bivalent system.
Then in Building Template manager assign your electric panels to the HVAC system and ...

Re: Parallel Notional and Actual Building Simulation
Now that parallel simulation has landed is it working for anybody? We have installed 2017 on three machines and not had any success due to an unknown error.
Is this an IES issue or could it be down to something on our network. It would be interesting to hear other people experience.
Thanks,

Re: Auxilary energy starting 2 hours early?
Thanks to Phil at IES support the answer is:
Auxiliary energy follows the plant profile which ramps up 2 hrs earlier. Whilst the ventilation follows the ventilation profile. Doesn't seem quite logical that there is a variation between the two, but that's the way it works. It is the same for the ...

Auxilary energy starting 2 hours early?
I'm trying to understand auxiliary energy.
I've setup a single room building in this case a classroom heated by underfloor heating and a local MVHR unit providing ventilation.
Therefore the Auxilary energy is the sum of the pump power density and the fan power density multiplied by any PFC ...

Re: Circulation spaces mysteriously included in Crit 3 check
If the circulation spaces have some form of cooling then the solar gain check applies.
