footing insulation

I've got a slab on grade building, for which I want to insulate the perimeter of the foundation - how do I go about this in IES? The footings/foundations aren't specifically part of the geometry, so I don't know how to assign constructions; could it be part of the construction for the 'ground ...

PRM report cooling load

How is the cooling load defined in the Detailed Simulation Reports? I understood that the 'space heating' and 'space cooling' were defined by the fuel type chosen, Electricity (heating) or (cooling). However the chiller load is much higher (x10) than the space cooling load in the report.
The ...

Re: Openings Database missing!!

It actually seems to work for me if I never do a 'save as' within the file of the whole thing. I have to exit the program, copy the folder, and open the new copy, then I have not had trouble with macroflo. Otherwise, neither going through the applications menu nor BTM works! Oh well, problem half ...

Re: Openings Database missing!!

I am having the exact same problem (the same dialogue boxes are popping up as were described before) - have any solutions been arrived at? It mostly happens after I have done a 'save as' of a file I have been working on, then the next is unable to properly open macroflo. I have not noticed any other ...

Heating/cooling per HVAC system

Maybe this is a rather elementary question, but I've got two completely different HVAC systems that work in two different areas of an office building (though they're on the same boiler loop), and I can't seem to figure out how to get an annual heating/cooling load from each separately. I have been ...

Re: one zone HVAC

Thanks for your response - I have tried both of these things, with no luck... I have also tried adding controllers to the HVAC system to tell it to turn on heat when the temperature is too low in the greenhouse, but in all the simulations I'm running, still no heating to speak of! It is following ...

one zone HVAC

I am modelling a single thermal zone with heating/ventilation only, and 100% glass (greenhouse). I chose the HVAC system 09h, and assigned the only zone to the 'multiplex'. The component did not seem to update with the zone however - and I thought it had to do with the multiplex. So I de-multiplexed ...

custom constructions import

Hi! How can I import custom walls/windows (that I have created) into a project from another? The user guide seems to mention a library, but I can't figure out how to access it/save to it.
Thanks for your help!

multiple simulations

I am hoping to run a model a number of times, each time slightly changing a variable (i.e. level of insulation, etc.) and noting its effect on overall loads. Is there a way to save the changes in the model each time, without, for example, doing a SaveAs of the whole file? Otherwise, I just need to ...
