Re: simulate cool pond with system for passive cooling

Thanks CP...again.

yes that is simple ....and obvious really when i look now.
i suppose my poor brain was getting rather weary at that point.

but i am really looking forward to the new testing of my design with this addition.

Re: how to set the infiltration temperature variation profil

excellent stuff CP -thanks.

no worry about the delay -as you can see.

i handed in the thesis and took a much needed LONG break from all this. (smiling sleepy face)

but am about to begin a new redraw and some more (relaxed) testing.

this is a vital parameter to get right as i am sure you are well ...

Re: how to set the infiltration temperature variation profil

hi CP

that sounds perfect though.
i would like to know the process, especially as i am effectively working with one room in the middle, -admittedly i have the surrounding area divided into seperate zones for the simulation (so i can better observe the dynamics occuring due to orientation) but this ...

Re: how to set the infiltration temperature variation profil

i like the thinking CP

my additional problem is that i am (possibly) using very permeable materials,(as i am looking at temporary structures) the lowest rate could be around 0.5cm3/cm2/s for the canvas so a complete infiltration rate kinda makes sense...but along with big cracks also.
for the area ...

how to set the infiltration temperature variation profile?

i would like to know how to write the formula for more accurately setting the temperature of the infiltration air in my sim.

The building template manager allows for adjustments to be made to the infiltration rate but also the temperature at which it enters by use of the variation profile and ...

Re: internal windows and shading devices

hopefully you will see this CP

i think i have confused my self.

with regard to IES not modelling the solar gain between thermal zone if there is air in between.

i find in the calculation methods mention of suncast calculating the effect of radiant heat transfer through a number of subsequent ...

Re: simulate cool pond with system for passive cooling

thanks for the reply marc

my problem is that i am not very good with the absolute profiles.

i have tried simply making the heater/cooling set point at a cooler level through the summer (8*C) but this just froze the room. -i dont know why. this is what i wrote:
ta=(8<to)

i am fine with modulating ...

simulate cool pond with system for passive cooling

i am looking to use a nearby pond to capture a little coolth for the simulation and try also with a roof pond.

the evaporative cooling element needs to be guessed at.

although the exact(ish) evaporative cooling figure can be calculated via the Penman Equation we can probably get away with an ...
