Equations for solving turblent flow in CFD

The guide for miroflo mentioned that the boundary condition is deprived by solving 2 partial equations for turbulent flow. But I couldn't find the equations anywhere..

Can anyone list down the equations they used? turbulent flow, viscosity etc?

Re: URGENT, PLS HELP

hi harshadj,

just like to check even if I make the skylight as a 100% window opening, ies wont be able to treat it like an air boundary? From my simulation, I obtained an reverse effect as what I am expecting. The air temperature close to the sky light has higher temperature and decreases down the ...

Re: URGENT, PLS HELP

any assistance?

another question is under mircoflo setting for .. what does the air velocity and initial temperature refers to? it is the external air velocity and external surrounding temperature?

Re: Finding air temperature

How should I construct my glass setting?

When I include in the skylight option,my surface temperature jumps a lot!

Re: Finding air temperature

Hi CP,

great to hear from you again. With regards to your construction 1, how should I go around setting it? Do I need to put 100% windows at the exterior wall? How about the top most roof layer, I couldn't change the roof material to glass unless I add in 100% window on it.

Re: Adnormal high surface temperature?

Hi CP,

If my intention is actually to make it like an air gap instead of an actual sky light, how should I go about doing it?

I got the sky light setting from setting the outer most layer with 100% window setting. Intention is to make it "invisible" where solar radiation could pass through and ...

Re: Adnormal high surface temperature?

I believe the key is due to the sky light. when I remove the skylight in place of a 5cm concrete, the temperature gives a more practical answer.

Putting a sky light gives me abnormal temperature of up to 60+ degree which is 30 degree more than ambient air

Can anyone gives me a advice on how to ...

Re: Finding air temperature

Here's how I would set this up in section view:

External air above (not a modelled zone)
-------------------------------------------------- surface 1 (glass as a hole)
Dummy zone
-------------------------------------------------- surface 2
Roof zone ...

Adnormal high surface temperature?

This is the model I am using. Basically I edited based on the tutorial model. The bottom is the office and I draw an additional 100mm ROOF layer above the office. Following which, I drew additional rooms of 0.5m, 1m, 1.5m and 5m height from the top of the ROOF ...
