Re: Exporting existing geometry from one project to another
You can import/export VE geometry between models using GEM files. In VE 2014 FP2, you'll go to File -> Export/Import -> VE Geometry (GEM) to first export your geometry and then import it into a fresh project. In older versions of the software, you'll need to go to the ModelIT menu instead of the ...

Re: Ruleset as notinput should not be user-specified
Marshall,
These errors are likely caused by having CBECC-COM v3 installed on your machine. Though v3 is released, the VE module is still using v2b. An updated version of the software that uses the v3 engine is expected within the next few weeks. In the meantime, install v2b and this error should go ...

Re: ASHRAE 90.1 Navigator - Sizing Runs
Martin,
Glad to hear things are working well for you now! I'm not certain why you wouldn't have received the error when performing the sizing in the navigator steps, but I will keep an eye out for other customers with the same problem in case it's an issue with the software.
Thanks,
Megan

Re: ASHRAE 90.1 Navigator - Sizing Runs
Let me walk through the sizing steps in the navigator before answer your specific questions as it will provide good background and be useful to other forum participants:

Re: U Value of Glazing being changed Automatically
Currently, the U-value is getting reset to CIBSE methodology values and thus appears inconsistent when using ASHRAE or EN-ISO instead. IES is aware of the issue and will have it resolved in a future release of the software so that CIBSE is not always the default view.

Rahul,
1. Make sure you're rooms are grouped into the appropriate 90.1 Space by Space groups. If they are not in the "SPACE: Hotel/Motel/Guest rooms" category (or whichever is appropriate) the changes you make will not be applied (nor will any gains). If the navigator steps are not detailed enough ...

Re: Chilled Beam DBT and CWL Temperature issues
This error is caused because you have a controller calling for a CC LAT that is less than the EWT. For example, you may be supplying 60°F water to a coil and have a coil leaving air temperature of 55°F. The software is recognizing that it is not possible to make 55°F air with 60°F water and giving ...

Appendix E of the current ApHVAC User Guide describes how to model VRF systems in ApHVAC in quite a bit of detail.

Re: Confusion of AutoSizing
To size radiators, you have to make some changes in the spreadsheet generated by the Room Loads step. On the Room-Htg Loads tab, change the heating load percentage to be addressed by the radiators to something greater than 0%. Because this defaults to 0%, the radiators get autosized to zero capacity ...

Re: Change properties of the cursor
In the "Tools" menu, there is an option for "Colour Preferences" where you can change the system colors. I believe the setting you are looking to change is "Lock Indicator".
