Re: View Room Width and Depth?

CP - I'm afraid I don't understand your post at all. Sounds like it could be revolutionary for me.

What are the 'showme tab things' and where might I find them?

Re: cooling energy higher with higher R-value facade

In instances where the external air temperature is greater than the internal air temperature, more insulation actually helps to reduce cooling demand, in the same way that an insulated cool box keeps your drinks cold in summer.

When the external air temperature is lower than the internal air ...

Re: Extension

You've probably thought of this, and I'm not sure if it will make it any easier for you, but if it's an extension, might it be L2B rather than L2A? i.e. is it <25% of the GIFA of the existing building?

TM52 - Summer (elevated) air speed

When carrying out the IES TM52 analysis, we are able to change a parameter named 'summer (elevated) air speed'. I understand from TM52 that this is to take account of air movement within the room, and determines the relative importance of air and radiant temperature in the resultant temperature ...

Re: Air supply mechanism

I'm finding this a little bit frustrating as well. I just want to check if I'm right. I'm using dynamic sim 2014 FP1.

From what I can see, the model only ever applies heat recovery to the notional building when you use the 'centralised, balanced A/C or mech vent system'.

The NDBSCG 2013 lists 12 ...

Part L Eire - Experiences?

Does anyone here have any experience with the Republic of Ireland Part L?

I've run a few calcs and I can't find any feasible services specification that fails, even with pretty poor U-values. Just wanted to check if anyone here has had the same experience, as I'm struggling to believe how flimsy ...

Re: MacroFlo airflow rates incredibly high

This doesn't sound that unusual to me. It's the sort of thing that happens when you have large opening areas.

If you sit in a small room on a windy day, what's going to give you more air changes? Mechanical vent or opening all the windows?

The other thing that might be driving it is temperature ...

Re: Daylight Autonomy

I have a PDF of a document called Priority for School Buildings Programme: Daylighting Criteria – DA and UDI in RadianceIES which I think is what you are looking for. Pretty sure I downloaded it from the user guide section of the IES website. It's really difficult to find the right thing on there at ...
