Hi
I have read the knowledge base FAQ.
I assume that if you set an SFP at system level, it does not appear on the SBEM BRUKL output document, why is this?
If you set the sfp at system level and have assigned that system to a particular zone, why does IES let you enter a zone level SFP and does ...

Aux Vent. System
I am trying to get my head around the "Aux Vent. system" feature.
In what instance would this be used? Is it for when you have two heating/cooling systems which work independently of one another, if so how is this controlled? Or is this the best way to assign a tempered/Trim air AHU system that is ...

Re: Mechanical Ventilation Systems with Trim Cooling
Can you elaborate when you say
"As usual, it's a best-fit situation - in this scenario I would use the 'mech vent' cooling/ventilation mechanism. This will avoid excessive cooling loads experienced if it were set to 'Air conditioning', and allows for an Aux energy load entry"
Particularly "mech ...

Tempered air secondary system
Hello,
I am modelling a building for SBEM in apache that has a primary heating system of underfloor heating. The is also mechanical supply and extract ventilation. The Supply is via an AHU with LTHW connection to temper the air and a dx coil to cool the supply air in summer. Both the tempered and ...

Re: Lighting values for Apache EPC calc
Phil,
Thanks for the response.
So if I am running a large model that requires, ApacheSim method (Compliance or EPC), due to the size and number of zones. I can't change the the lamp types, or w/sqm, are they just fixed. What if I had a tungsten lamp the energy used would be a lot more than a ...

Re: Lighting values for Apache EPC calc
Phil,
I probably didn't explain very well.
What I'm referring to is the energy used by lighting, not for gains. In apache sim-EPC how are the lamp types of w/m2 entered, do you have to enter them when in SBEM-EPC, or do they not affect the calculation when running Apache sim?
I've made a few ...

Lighting values for Apache EPC calc
I haven't used IES for sometime, so I'm a little rusty.
Under the EPC compliance, you can set all the internal lighting parameters i.e setting the lamp type or the w/sqm and lux levels in each zone.
These inputs are greyed out under the Apache EPC area, how are the lighting values set, or are ...

Thanks for your help, few more queries in my ignorance!

Re: Windows
I find this still a bit confusing even after reading the manual.
If the degree of opening is set to "on continuously" does this mean the windows is open when it meets the "opening threshold temperaure"
if the windows is "off continuously" then the windows in closed but the crack inflitration is ...

Re: Generating a zone drawing
Thanks for your answer.
I take the the room names are from the CAD drawing not the model?
As the names of the rooms on the CAD drawing are in this case duplicated and not unique.
Just interested to know how others give this information to building control.
