Hi,
I tried, with sketchup plugin, to recognize a 278 rooms building and after lots of hours appear in a new window "all rooms will be cancelled".
I thinked it was because the plugin it's limited to 200 rooms so I decide to simplify my model to 199 rooms. In this case It was able to recognize all rooms but when I tried to export the model sketchup crashed, so I don't know how to import my model (For each simulation It need something like 20 hours..).
There are other solutions?
278 rooms building
Re: 278 rooms building
Hi,
There is no limit of 200 rooms in our plug-in for SketchUp, I'm not aware of any limit and VE can comfortably handle thousands of rooms. Obviously as things get more complex (rooms, bodies, surfaces, openings) then it becomes a slower process.
If it's taking hours and hours you should look at grouping rooms and sets of surfaces that form rooms and using the toolbar interface to tell the plug-in these are whole rooms, this dramatically speeds up the room identification process and gives you more control over what the plug-in finds and passes to VE.
Keep the model as simple as possible too, make all superfluous details Components and set these to exclude if they don't form part of room boundaries, this way the plug-in will only be concerned by the rooms in the model.
