Export stl file
I tried to export the model into stl file but it seems incomplete and got problem and suddenly need to close the program. why did this happen and how to completely save the model in stl format? thanks
Re: Export stl file
Hi,
STL file conversion will attempt to simplify the geometry as part of the export and we have found cases in the past where complexity of flaws in the geometry (intersecting zones, non-planar surfaces etc) can cause problems during the export.
My first advice would be to review the geometry and try to keep it simple, also do a model geometry check (Settings menu >> Model... choose Intersections, Zones and Surfaces then click Check to get a report or use the new Tabular Room Data Geometry Check data) and ensure you correct any problems reported.
We're looking to make this export as robust as possible (it should never just crash and should if possible give you some feedback on problem areas) so if you want to archive the model and send to feedback@iesve.com them we can pass it on to the development team for troubleshooting and testing any future improvements.
