Mark ASHRAE Baseline Template

Post by bbrannon4 »

I'm not sure the best way to do this, but I'm just imagining some sort of drop down selection in a thermal template, to select another thermal template as the ASHRAE baseline.

Use case: many time the ASHRAE space groups aren't explicit enough for real modeling and loads. Healthcare is a good example, where there can be several different times of storage, all with different air change and exhaust requirements. This generally means we end up having to have a loads model and a separate LEED model, which is not ideal. It would be great if the PRM templates were actually not editable (as in the names). But they could be duplicated, say I copied the storage to be "Clean Linen Storage" or something. Then in that new template I could modify the ventilation as I needed, but if I could somehow reference that the original ASHRAE Space by Space Storage template is still the relevant baseline category, then the navigator would know what the baseline LPDs (and other relevant unchangeable things) would be.

I could think of other cleaner ways to do it, but this would be the simplest and just require one new field in the thermal templates (the PRM ones would just refer to themselves) and a bit of code in the navigator to pull the right baseline LPDs and stuff (I think...)
