Assign Glazing by orientation

Post by xjz1989 »

The building I am modelling a building with different windows on different orientations. So there are four types of windows, and I need to assign the glazing construction on east, west, south and north. How can I do this work? It seems that I can only assign windows by selecting the zones, but not by windows.
Thx a lot!

You'll need to select individual surfaces within each zone and assign the windows from there.

It can be a laborious task on large buildings, made even worse when you realise you have to do it all over again for MacroFlo settings when defining window openings.

Thanks John. It's a pity to know this. I think I won't assign that one by one. That will take too long time. Maybe I will use only one window for a building, which has an average U-value calculated from the 4 types.

Yes, providing your U-values are similar that's probably the best idea.
