Notional Building model for use in BREEAM Ene 04

Post by georgenash »

Hi

In order to conduct the analysis for BREEAM Ene 04 UK New Construction, you need to compare the proposed development to a 'Standard Building'.

The 'standard building' is effectively the 'notional building' from building regulations, but with the services from the proposed development.

Is there a way to extract the 'Notional building' model created within VE compliance, and use this as a project model, so you are able to change HVAC systems?

Thanks
George

Yes, you can get the Notional Building geometry.

Move from VE Compliance to ModelIT and in the key-in field type "dumpnm" and press Enter.

This will prompt to save a GEM file for the Notional Building.

To import this create a new project and select File>Import>BIM File and select GEM as the file type on the drop down beside File name. Find the GEM file and select Open.
