Simulated Room Temperatures

Post by iwmech »

Does anyone know whether the room/zone temperatures simulated in Apache>CIBSE are local maximum temperatures in the room or are they averaged room temperature values? Is there any way to model/visualise the temperature profile within a room/zone?

Thank you.

I think the temperature is taken at a single point at the centre of the zone. If you want temperature profiles at various heights you will need to subdivide the zones further.

In general, if you want to examine the fine detail of temperature profiles within an individual room then you would probably be better using CFD software.

The temperatures reported in IES are effectively averages for each zone.
