How to get rid of warnings

Post by kokaka »

Hi ya,

I am working on Higher education student accommodation building.
So far i finished modelling the building and run the SBEM and PART L cacls.
Apparently it shows loads of warnings some thing like this..

* [ 41] ** WARN 1 ** : (Other warnings): TOT-SOL-TRANS = 1.2
* [ 42] ** WARN 2 ** : (Other warnings): LIG-SOL-TRANS = 1.2
* [ 92] ** WARN 3 ** : (Other warnings): LIG-SOL-TRANS = 0.000
* [ 97] ** WARN 4 ** : (Other warnings): LIG-SOL-TRANS = 0.000
* [ 101] ** WARN 5 ** : (Other warnings): CM = {0.0, 0.0}
* [ 248] ** WARN 6 ** : (Other warnings): AREA = 0.067
* [ 432] ** WARN 7 ** : (Other warnings): AREA = 0.057
* [ 1159] ** WARN 8 ** : (Other warnings): AREA = 0.003

I am wondering does any one come across such warnings.Could some one let me know how to get rid of these warnings? I have absolutely no idea where to find the solution for such warnings in IES. By the way we don’t have any city weather files in our systems.

Hi,

These warnings will not stop the results from being produced but you are right to query these as they will highlight any inputs in the model that were unexpected. As these warning codes are generated by SBEM I do not have an index of these with meanings so would suggest you may be best contacting BRE themselves to request this information.

http://www.ncm.bre.co.uk/

I hope this is useful, if any other users do have information on these warnings or a link to a website that gives more info please post here.

Morning Phil,

First of all Thank you for your comments about my earlier query regarding warnings displayed in error file. Like you mentioned that warnings doesn’t stop Either SBEM or EPC results only errors does. After running the SBEM complaisance it does showed SBEM FAILED -WOULD YOU LIKE TO DISPLAY ERROR FILE. In that particulat error file over 2000 warnings displayed and from this point i dont have any clue how to get rid of those warnings and get the SBEM (BRUKL) report and EPC reports.

I am still under confusion how can I get the BRUKL & EPC reports despite warnings showed in error file. Every time I am just stuck up at this point and don’t know how to proceed further.

Your thoughts would be appreciated

Cheers

Hi,

I wonder if this is perhaps a memory issue - SBEM is fairly limited in the size of building it can simulate. Roughly how many rooms does your model have?

We have found that anything over about 400 rooms will cause SBEM to fail to generate the results documents (BRUKL or EPC).

If that is the case then I would suggest you may need to reduce the model size by combining rooms of similar activity or HVAC system. Also check the project folder \Regs\PartL2\SBEM\BRUKL folder and check if the "_brukl.inp" file has been generated. If it is generated then I can give you instructions on how to generate the PDF manually using that .inp file.

Phil ,

under the project folder...... \Regs\PartL2\SBEM\BRUKL i have PROJECTNAME_inp file . can i know from this point how to get the BRUKL PDF as well as EPC file file manually. Can i know how to reduce the model size by combining similar activity or HVAC system, perhaps that would be useful for my future projects in IES.
