Notional Systems
In Compliance, I have noticed that for an "actual" building system set up with radiators, with a supply ventilation (air not tempered), there is no associated auxiliary energy in the notional building (shown in in the BRUKL report and Vista results). Looking at the "notional" building and the system equivalent, there is only a SFP for this system. Should this be set up with the system type as "radiators", the cooling system as "natural ventilation", the auxiliary energy method as "Use AEVs (and local SFP)", entering the SFP in the room data? Otherwise the pump power for the radiators is not accounted for in the NER and it is not really a comparison.
Re: Notional Systems
Hi Siobhan,
I know this is well after the question was asked (and I suspect dealt with directly in September) but rather than have this hanging unanswered I'll post an response in here.
The notional systems are created in accordance with the Notional System rules in the NCM Modelling Guide. If you don't already have a copy of the NCM Modelling Guide it can be downloaded from:
http://www.communities.gov.uk/publicati ... llingguide
Something that you might find useful is a summary table that details the system efficiency parameters for the Notional, Typical and Reference buildings depending on the Actual buildings properties. Now this is the table for the version 5.9 - I'll have to double-check that there have been no updates for versioin 6 when I get back to work (it's the weekend and I'm just doing a couple of hours at home).

I hope this has proved useful to anyone interested in notional systems.
David.
