HVAC systems performance in BRUKL

Post by obolothran »

Hi,
I have question regarding the 'HVAC systems performance' section in the BRUKL which lists the demand, consumpation, and efficiency for heating, cooling, and auxiliary for the different systems in the building.

Why doesn't the sum of the heating consumption (or cooling or auxiliary for that matter) equal to the energy consumption by end use table? How are the values in this table calculated?

Thanks!

The HVAC system performance table divides all the figures by the floor area that each system serves. Therefore you can not add them together. the End use figure is the overall consumption therefore it should be somewhere between the highest and lowest figure.

if system A serves a larger area than system B the overal KWh/m2 will be closer to the larger system.

If you know the area that each system serves you could work out the consumption in KWh then add them all together and divde by the total flr area and you should arrive at a number close to the end use table.

To get the exact figure you'll need to account for the management adjustment factors. pfc and metering.
