I would like to check compliance with UK dwellings for my low-energy building (i work on my master thesis) and the program asks me for JPA installation. As I understand it's a separate application? Can I get it for my student lincence?
I have also problem if I want to check L1 compliance, there is an info that I didnt set any room type for "Dwielling Living Area", where I can do this?
Waiting for the answer.

Re: Dwellings
Hi Kinga,
The UK Dwellings route (which allows you to assess the model against SAP 9.81 onwards) requires JPA Designer to be installed and you will need a licence for this, I'll find out if this is included on our student package or not and get back to you.
To check L1 (I assume at this point you are using the SAP 9.80 regulations within VE Compliance) you have to have at least one room in the model defined as a Dwelling Living Area. Set this on the Regulations tab at the bottom of the screen - select a room and you will find you can change Room Type from the default "Heated Space" to "Dwelling living area" (you need to untick the default checkbox first).
You will get more info on the inputs required for SAP/Domestic Compliance in the user guides at http://www.iesve.com/downloads/help/VE6 ... (2006).pdf

Re: Dwellings
Hi, I got an update on this:
There is a small fee to get the UK Dwellings/JPA Designer key added to your student licence. If any student user is interested then you (or your university if they buy the licences) should contact sales@iesve.com and they can provide further details.

Re: Dwellings
Hi Phil,
I'm having the same problem as Kinga, can select room type as a dwelling living area. I unticked the default box and select it but it always comes back to heated space, not sure if I am missing something.
Thank you for your help.
Luis

Re: Dwellings
Hi,
That's a mistake in the interface. If you select the room and click the Room Query button then you can set it to be Dwelling Living Area on the Building Regs tab of Room Data and that will stick.
We'll get that fixed though
