Hi,
I have found that applying information to surfaces is much quicker in SketchUp than IES. This is because you don't have to specify the room, you can just click a face and orbiting the 3D model is quicker.
Could certain data such as MacroFlo openings and constructions be transferred this way?
For example in SketchUp you could make 3 materials: Wall Type 1, Wall Type 2, and Wall Type 3. These could then be transferred into IES and assigned (without any thermal data). Then in IES the construction build up could be added/corrected. So you open 'Wall type 1' in the constructions data base and add the thermal details.
I often find applying the construction/Macroflo opening can take much longer than specifying its properties. Particularly for a big project.
I hope this makes sense.

Re: SketchUp Plugin - Transfer Surface Data
Hi Ross,
This is a fair suggestion (and one that has come up before). We'd need a bit more of an interactive 3d viewer for this to happen but I believe the framework that Model Viewer 2 is built around is capable of doing this (given some development effort). I'll record and ensure it's on the agenda to get some specification and design.
