I have being trying to figure out why my Ua-Calc values were so high until I realised that the calculation was including for the internal floor/ceiling and internal walls, does anybody know the reason behind this ? And further more how to fix this occurrence ?
Thank you in advance.
Cruterion 2 U Values
Re: Cruterion 2 U Values
You will find some good info on this on other threads on this forum. It will be because you have unconditioned spaces in your model (or perhaps rooms of type unheated space, internal void etc).
The L2 rules specify that the building thermal envelope be calculated at the boundary between any conditioned and unconditioned or external spaces so the software will include internal partitions or ceilings at these points if necessary. Particularly in the case of SBEM this can be problematic for internal voids so that Room Type should be avoided there.
