Multiplex issue

Hello,

I am now modeling a large commercial building which includes a big number of zones. Basically, i proposed to use Water loop heat pump, there are several big heat pumps each floor and each heat pump will cover several zones. I used the prototype of the DOAS-WLHP and did the the multiplex following the instruction of the user guide. I grouped the zones under one AHU and assigned rooms from room group.

My question is that: if I do this way, does that mean I assign an AHU for each zone? But actually, it should be one AHU for several zones. How can I model as I thought? Thanks!

Hello

As per my understanding, one AHU per the whole multiplex and only if you have included the space and controllers along with it.

The AHU with its components and controller will serve multiple zones. In your case, the AHU with FAN and its components must be outside the multiplex and the multiplex will contain the spaces and controllers depending on the number of zones served by AHU.

The way you have modeled is right as per my understanding and I hope my answer clarifies it.

Thanks for your reply! I think I did not ask clearly. I understand what you said that if I want to use one AHU for several zones, just put the AHU and components outside the multiplex and the space and controller in the multiplex.

But if you check the Prototype DOAS and Water-Loop Heat Pump, you will find that the heat pump is already in the multiplex, in this case does that mean that each zone has a heat pump? I have tried to move the heating coil and cooling coil outside the multiplex, it shows error.

Therefore, I want to ask in this prototype system, how can I model one heat pump for several zones? Thanks!
