internal gains automatically reset to zero

Post by CHCGB14 »

Hello,

I am trying to model a residential building through the PRM Navigator, and am facing the below problems :

1. the internal gains are reset to zero right after i apply the values (i can see it reset if i open the gains dialogue again).

2. Service water heating consumption is zero (in the BPRMReport). [the l/h/occupant peak values was assigned to the hotel/ motel rooms template and consumption is linked to the occupancy profile)

Any advise / input on the above would be greatly appreciated.

Rahul,

1. Make sure you're rooms are grouped into the appropriate 90.1 Space by Space groups. If they are not in the "SPACE: Hotel/Motel/Guest rooms" category (or whichever is appropriate) the changes you make will not be applied (nor will any gains). If the navigator steps are not detailed enough for what you are trying to accomplish, you can always edit the gains in Apache... I suggest using tab editing!

2. Two thoughts... First, make sure you have rooms assigned to that template. If you don't have any rooms of that space type in the model, there will be no DHW load (see above). Second, make sure there are people in the space. Confirm that the space occupancy profile looks reasonable and that the total number of people is greater than zero. If your internal gains are zero, it's possible you don't have any people in your spaces.
