Macroflo not found when simulating

Post by AwL »

Hi,
I am new to this and having a problem with ApacheSim picking up my Macroflo data. When I start the sim, Macroflo is available (not greyed out), but soon after initiation of the process I get a window headlined
..\macroflo\GENE~SLA.mfo
followed by an Apache window
"Error Failed to open Macroflo MFO file
. The file does exist as I have been into the Macroflo folder to check.
I have read around the forum on this, and one thing I found that might be relevant is that IES apparently does not like long file extensions? Regarding this, I should add that I am running it on a Mac via Parallels, so I don't know if this degree of separation to the directories on my Mac OS is the problem. To remedy this I tried to "save as" in a folder directly under my documents rather than it being buried deeper down in its original sub-sub-subfolder. Still doesn't work.
Any suggestions much appreciated.
Andrew.

Hi, I imagine you have found a solution to this issue by now, though if not, try saving the model on the windows directory rather than the mac side. For example, create an IES model folder directly onto your windows C: directory. I also tend to use underscores rather than spaces in my file names and no odd symbols.

Thanks - that seems to have done the trick.
