Hi,
I am working on a project with point of use hot water that serves the sinks etc.
On the water heater schedule, the water heaters for hot drinks are also mentioned.
Here is an example:

Should these units be included in Part L calculations? Does water for hot drinks count as DHW?

Hi RossThompson
in my personal view; I think energy consumption due to hot water drink (potable) should not be part of the Part L calculation as it is counted as unregulated energy ( eg: without this system , you would have kettle to do the same work)
however , if you use the same system for both DHW and potable hot water generation, you would then assign POU system (with storage but no circulation) , this becomes a similar system as instantaneous electric water heater which you generally put to serve wet areas in the building but I dont believe the same system could be feasible for a k*****n area- how can you provide hot water flow temp reaching max 55 C for the purpose of DHW Sink facility but also providing potable hot water drink that could be reaching more higher temperature , never seen system application in the k*****n area but I assume they do this because they do not have separate system for the DHW

You are saying one system for both use i, e hot water for bath and drink. But how to control two different temperature for hot water because for drinking you want 52 to 72 °F and for bathing 90 to 108 °F. So can you explain in brief?
