If you have templates set up for the activities you could try using the Room Group Creator tool (access from Tools menu >> Room Group Creator). Choose "By Thermal Template" then Create Grouping Scheme

This would create a new grouping scheme with a group for each Thermal Template in the Project Template manager and it would automatically fill these Groups with rooms based on the Thermal Templates you have assigned.

That might help,

Grouping schemes are really good and take about 2 minutes to grasp...

I tend to have:

1. Floors (should be automatic - storeys help out though)
2. Activity (should be automatic)
3. Template (now automated)
4. HVAC System (should be automatic)
5. Results based for reporting

Obviously different project determine that you'll need different groups.

Nice to see you back Zap.

As you said, the room groupings can be for virtually anything you want. I tend to add façade orientation in general, and a half-dozen other things depending on how complex the thing is. One thing I'd recommend is that if you are using layers (and it's a good idea to use that), you should have a room grouping scheme for that as well.

Hey man... back with a bang!

Been concentrating on other things for a little while but managed to free up a little time to help out a couple of times (hopefully).

Can't believe I left out orientation!!! Schoolboy error... I'll be on here soon asking "how can I get my window to be what my spec sheet says?"

I've never matched my layers with schemes cause generally I'll have a scheme that matches but that's a good idea - I'm stealling that off you and if anyone asks I've always done it that way, ok!!!
