I'am having an error of "Material NCMBRO not found" when I try to simulate some models in Apachi Simulation.
Please help me how to solve this error and what does it refer for.
ApachiSim Erros
Re: ApacheSim Errors
Material not found is usually a result of a corrupt construction. If you got to the Apache Constructions Database and on the left hand side select 'Purge unused project constructions' and then attempt a simulation. That should remove the corrupt constructions which are not in use which should hopefully include the corrupt constructions.
If a corrupt construction is in use then look at your assigned constructions for any blank material layers. If you find any then copy and paste another material into the blank layer.

Re: ApachiSim Erros
Another one here.
I have a building with more than 1900 rooms. I tried purging materials and constructions with no luck. Also went through each partition, and checked the layers, usage, whether each room has proper construction types assigned, etc.
What I found is a lot of non-editable (i.e. green titled, system) constructions with layers missing left and right. Typically, only a Cavity is defined. These I cannot edit or delete.
I'm getting quite desperate here, IES VE will not report where exactly the missing material has been used. And I just cannot run the simulation.
Any help would be deeply appreciated.

Re: ApachiSim Erros
In the meantime, I managed to resolve the issue.
As mentioned, problem was that blank layers showed up in the system, i.e. non-editable, constructions. In particular, those of NCM group. Before doing anything else I made sure that these partitions were not assigned to any room.
There are two ways to rectify this kind of problem:
1. Open the DFA file (located in the project/apache directory). This is how I found the material. If only there was some other way to find the missing material more easily! Instead, only an inarticulate error dialog box shows up. Anyway, I deleted the constructions from this file directly. I would guess this is not the proper way to do it, which brings us to point No. 2:
2. Import the template of particular system partitions. Go to Building Template Manager, click the template import button, then the browse for template button. In the dialog, navigate to IES directory in Program Files, find directory apps in it, and the Templates directory in apps. There finally you should see NCM directory with NCM OfficeOrWorkshop (Office).mtd template in it. Copy it to project and confirm overwrite of the existing templates. Save.
I really wish that IES had a way to easily understand the details of an error, in this case to understand which material is it that is missing and to what does it belongs to.
Hope this might help someone else.
