I have a large plaza within the model which is not a conditioned space. But the lighting loads ( exterior lighting) within that space needs to be plugged into the energy simulation.
Does this mean that the space needs to be modeled as a room or any other way to plug it in?
If I make it a room how will it affect the heating and cooling loads of the rooms adjacent this space specially the ones with exterior windows?
Modeling exterior Plaza
Re: Modeling exterior Plaza
Hi,
If it is an exterior space then you shouldn't model it as a room.
If you simply want to model the energy consumption of the lights then they can be added on to any room within your model as a gain and you can zero the gain but leave the power consumption value in. This is the approach taken in the ASHRAE 90.1 Navigator as it states exterior lighting should be considered in the energy end uses
