Input Data Visualisation - Room Groups

Post by JohnLloyd »

Could you please add the option to Input Data Visualisation to colour the building using room groupings? This would add a lot of flexibility in the way we can present model set-up.

Alternatively, when setting the model to be coloured 'By Room Group' could you get it to also colour the internal ceiling of each room; currently all ceilings show up as grey in the model viewer.

Thanks,
John

Hi,

If the ceilings were coloured as the external walls when viewing the regular model viewer ll and model is set to colour by room group - would this be enough? (Rather than adding it to the IDV options)

It's come up once or twice recently so I have requested some option for this colouring and just want to check that would cover what you are after as well.

Also, my great advice for this short term is to do a save as of the model, delete the rooms on the floor above or move them all apart and then you can use the MVll to get the visuals you require for each floor.

Hi Phil,

I think having the option in IDV would be a more 'complete' solution...but having the ceilings as per the external walls would also work.

Thanks,
John

Good News!

The ability to view assigned room groups (and also layers) will be available in IDV from VE2015FP1.
You'll also be able to apply colouring to internal surfaces in the normal viewer. :)

Unfortunately it was too late in our development cycle to get them in for VE2015.

I hope this helps and checks both boxes. ;)
