Lost surface

Post by xjz1989 »

Hi,

When I was doing the geometry in ModelIT, I always find that some zones in my model will lost surface, especially when I use the divide tools to create the model.
For example there should be four walls in a rectangular zone, but in my model there are only three walls and one wall is missing.
What cause this problem? Will this affect the EPC simulation?

Thank you,
Jia

If a surface disappears it normally indicates a geometry error such as a volume intersection or non planar surface. Use the Create Model Report function in the Model Settings dialogue box to see what problems it identifies.

Hi CP,

I have done the model check, there is no intersection or non planar surface error, only two slivers.
Is it possible because I created the model by snapping the drawings but not the grid?

Thank you,

Hi Jia

Snapping to drawing almost always creates problems. If I was a betting man, I'd say redrawing to grid will solve it.
