Understanding MicroFlo Monitor view

Post by tfm »

Hi,

I am quite new to MicroFlo. Can some one explain me what the different items in the MicroFlo Monitor view refer to? That is, the "u", "v", "w", etc.on the left side of the MicroFlo Monitor view. In terms of achieving convergence, I particularly have problems with the "k" and "e".

Thanks!

u,v,w is the x,y,z velocity

and the k e is better explained here

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K-epsilon ... ence_model

turbulent kinetic energy (k) determines the energy in the turbulence
turbulent dissipation (\epsilon) determines the rate of dissipation of the turbulent kinetic energy.

If you use the Constant Effective Viscosity, it doesn't use these variables
