I cannot run any simulation!!!

Post by bboltt »

I don't know why I cannot run any simulations.
It said " The system cannot find the file specified."
I have already done a lot research. It is not the common problem with path. I already save the project to C:\VEProjects, as suggested. And project name is just model. I named the result file as result.aps
Actually I tried with the file name many times, I am pretty sure it is not that problem.

When I was in Revit, I click VE-Ware, the same error comes out.

If someone can help me, I will be really grateful.

Hi,

I would certainly have first suggested it was the path and where you have the project saved and it still could be, perhaps there is an unusual character in the file name or path or it could be the length of filename or path?

It could even be some permissions or file access restriction on the project or one of the project files, the error message header would usually show which particular file the error relates to but if it's a long file name the end may be truncated so try reducing this in the first instance to get more information from it.

There is no unusual character in my file name. I tried many different file name and path, none is working. Last try, my file name is a.aps, and path is C:\b

Hi,

In this case I can't guess at the problem but we can explore it further. If you could email some details to the Tech Support team using the Contact Form linked below we'll spend some time on this.

To start us off send over an archive of your project and screenshot of the error message please.

When contacting support could you also include a full troubleshooting report please.

To generate it, open the VE, then go to 'Help > Troubleshooting...' and clicked on 'Full Report'.
From there you can 'Copy' it into a text file and attach it to your support query.

I have the same problem. Please help me!
I would like to inform you that few months ago I had installed the IES-VE in a laptop that is now crushed so I cannot deactivate the last key licence. I downloaded the IES in a new laptop and I activated it however, I cannot run the Apache. Some messages such as the followings are appeared:
"error: opening file- (creating temporary output files (INJOBF)"
"A Fatal error has occurred and the program is now terminating. For clarification and further help please contact IES Ltd. "
"software- detected error"
"would you like a stack dump"

The IES support just mention the followings:

This is usually a permissions issues or a problem with the file path. What to do is try selecting File>Save Project As...
Change the Project Name to “Model1” (you can change it to something more relevant later) and Save the project to C:\VEProjects and select OK.
Select Yes to create the “VE Projects” project folder and then try running the simulation again.

I did that but nothing happen. Please help I need the software the soonest possible so your input and guidance will be greatly appreciated and I await a response at your earliest convenience.

Thanks.

Sincerely,

Have you tried running the VE as an administrator (it does seem like an issue with permissions).
