Natural Ventilation

Post by kgoytan »

Hi everyone,

I am modelling an assembly hall of a factory building. The system has unit heaters for heating and natural ventilation for cooling. I have used 07c as a base for ApacheHVAC modelling. However, I cannot prevent it from providing natural ventilation during heating season. Is it because of MacroFlo opening settings?

Basically we want natural ventilation to be on whenever both of the following conditions are satisfied:
1- Tindoor>24
2- Tindoor>Toutdoor

Thanks in advance,

Hi,

The Natural Ventilation depends on where this is showing up

it could be from MacroFlo or perhaps a Natural Ventilation air exchange? You need ot see where it is coming from before you can restrict it. Once you find out then you would just need to modify the control for this part of your model, in most parts of VE (ApacheHVAC uses controllers in the network) you do this via profiles and you have option of defining annual profiles so you can specify different behaviour in different seasons or formula profiles that you can use to mimic the controls you want to study e.g. base don room air temperatures, weather conditions etc
