I find the tutorials section is the weakest in IES VE

Post by dezine_gen »

Hello,
I've recently bought IES student version. And struggling to learn IES by the tutorials shipped within the package itself.

I've used Ecotect and learned a lot only by the tutorials listed in Ecotect's web page, that is what missing with IES. May be IES developer has to look into the works Ecotect Guys has done, just to make sure users learn it easily or may be assign someone who can do this for IES.

What could be worse for a famous software when it is weak in letting people learn it easily !

We feel that the user guide do provide a lot of the knowledge required but I take your point on step-by-step tutorials.
These are however provided on completion of web-based training sessions. You may like to find out more here: http://www.iesve.com/training

Just purchased student version as well but downloaded it over the net. I notice that this post is a year after the original but I also notice that nothing has been done about the step-by-step tutorials. I am struggling to get to grips with this software and the so called 'tutorials' which are in fact user guides from the net are of no help at all.

David, why aren't the step-by-step tutorials provided with the software instead of only making it available to those who pay extra for training sessions?

As a VE-Pro User, I couldn't agree more with maccas and dezine_gen! Step-by-step tutorials are the must for the beginners especially for such an expensive software!!
Besides, there are also lack of parameters for MoedlIT tutorials!

We do take these comments on board, there are a range of tutorials currently being developed and this will include a free introductory set for users who haven't yet had training which I think will help you out

When i first started using IESVE it was at my university. A guy there had created a tutorial which only had 3 rooms in it, but it took you through all the important modules of IESVE. I think that would be the preferred first hand user guide, also to show people what IESVE can actually do.

Hi KasperS,

is it possible to make this tutorial available for others to use, maybe on YouTube or similar. It does seem really crazy that IES is so difficult to access for new users.
